Well, I did. SIXTEEN inches of hair, gone in a matter of minutes. Maybe the lack of weight on my neck caused my massive round of migraines... Nah! It feels great to have it all gone. I had been so tired of having long hair. Felt like I was always putting it up in a ponytail. It was long, red and beautiful, but it was overwhelming.
I decided if I was going to cut a significant amount of hair, I might as well cut off enough to donate my hair. Why not? It was just going to be thrown away, and there are people out there suffering from the effects of chemotherapy and alopecia. So Locks of Love is where I sent 12 inches of my hair (the other 4 inches were lost in the shaping & styling), and I hope that they are able to help a redhead be a redhead again. If you ever are going cut a bunch of your hair off, I highly suggest donating it. It is a great feeling, and lucky for me (and hopefully for you) it will grow back.
I had short hair back when I was in college, so I wasn't a stranger to the "lifestyle change." Ha! To give you and idea of the change, here is an example of what my hair used to look like (mine was actually about 2 inches longer than her's):

And here is an example of what it looks like now:

Granted, neither picture is me (and they don't have red hair like I do), but you get the idea.
I love it everyday! And luckily Brian does to. He likes it a lot more than I and he thought he would. YAY! I am so glad that he is not one of those guys who feel that a woman's femininity is wrapped up in her hair. Because short is sexy too! And my hair is the only thing that is short on me. ;)
Hope y'all are having a fabulous day!!

that is a really sexy cut. Good for you in donating your hair. Some day I'd like to do that...when it gets long enough, that is.
love that short cut! and donating is the best possible thing you can do with long locks!
i hide behind my hair. someday when i am feeling more confident (and thinner), i might cut it. might. i had short hair as a teenager (billy idol era, bah!), and it was fun and gets its own kind of attention. maybe someday it will be good to try it again, but NOT a spiky look this time. ahhahah
